Sites and pages
- Swap words on pages in the toolbar popup turns Kotiko on and off everywhere.
- Pause on this site turns it off on the site you're on. Resume turns it back on.
Pages Kotiko leaves alone
Section titled “Pages Kotiko leaves alone”- Your browser's own pages, such as settings and the new tab page, and extension stores: browsers don't let extensions change them.
- Banks, payment pages, health portals, government and tax sites, and email you're writing: Kotiko recognises these and stays away, and the toolbar popup says why. Swap words here anyway overrides it for that site.
- Buttons, menus and form fields: left alone by default, so controls read as you expect.
- Pages in a language you don't read: see Choosing languages.
If a page keeps undoing Kotiko's changes, Kotiko steps back on that page and says so in the toolbar popup.
What websites can see
Section titled “What websites can see”The words Kotiko swaps in become part of the page, so the site's own scripts can see them. They can't see your word list or the meanings. The privacy policy explains this.
Keyboard
Section titled “Keyboard”Select a swapped word and press Alt+Shift+R to open its card; Tab moves through it and Esc closes it.
